Patrick Roberts has joined Birmingham City from Sunderland as a permanent transfer.
On the final day of the transfer window, Birmingham City converted Patrick Roberts’ loan to a permanent contract.
Roberts has three goals and five assists in 25 Championship games since joining St Andrew’s from Sunderland at the end of the summer transfer window.
His Sunderland contract was about to expire at the end of the season, and the Blues stepped in to provide him a permanent home.
The winger has signed a contract that will last two and a half years, until the summer of 2028.
Roberts achieved promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs with Sunderland last season and is regarded as one of the most respected Championship players.
He will now battle for a starting spot with Carlos Vicente, who has joined Blues from Alaves, in a squad geared toward the Championship play-offs.
