Middlesbrough FC plans Bundesliga transfer attack ahead of February 2nd.

Middlesbrough are in negotiations with Hamburg about a prospective transfer raid, which might secure their promotion hopes.

According to Football Insider, the Teesside club is negotiating a deal to improve their striker options as they pursue promotion to the Premier League.

The Championship side had already been linked with a number of strikers this month, with Kim Hellberg looking to strengthen that part of the squad.

Joel Piroe emerged as a target, despite opposition from rival Middlesbrough, but the Dutchman prefers to stay at Elland Road for the time being.

As a result, the club has shifted its focus to other targets, with the market scheduled to close at 7 p.m. on February 2.

Middlesbrough wants Hamburg striker

According to the aforementioned rumors, Middlesbrough is negotiating a deal for Ransdorf Konigsdorffer with only a few days remaining in the winter market.

Following his recent achievements in the Bundesliga, the Ghana international has emerged as a potential Championship team player.

Despite his two goals in 21 appearances in the German Bundesliga this season, the club’s scouts are said to have been impressed.

Boro are trying to strike while the iron is hot by adding to their squad, since they are now in the running for automatic promotion.

Hellberg’s team is second in the table, five points ahead of third-place Ipswich, despite having played one extra fixture.

The team is also within three points of leaders Coventry City, giving them their greatest chance of returning to the Premier League since their relegation in 2018.

It remains to be seen what sum will be required to persuade Hamburg to part ways with the 24-year-old.

The forward’s contract is slated to expire in the summer, which might pave the way for an exit this month.

Middlesbrough’s next game is at home against Norwich City on Saturday at 3 p.m., and the window will close on Monday evening.

The signing of Ransford Konigsdorffer has the potential to strengthen Middlesbrough’s promotion bid.

Konigsdorffer was an important part of Hamburg’s ascent to the Bundesliga, scoring 14 goals and providing two assists in 32 appearances.

If he can maintain that level of goal scoring with Middlesbrough right away, he may be the difference-maker the squad needs.

It is a danger to expect him to make an easy transition to English football and immediately adapt to Hellberg’s style of play.

However, if all goes as planned, this may be a very wise decision to assist the team finish in the top two.
