Swansea City are interested in Birmingham City’s Kyogo Furuhashi, with the Midlands club reportedly ‘ready to listen’ to offers for the striker before the February 2 deadline.
There was a lot of excitement at St. Andrew’s when the Blues signed the Rennes player in the summer, but he has had a rough start in the Championship.
Furuhashi’s first league goal in royal blue came against Sheffield Wednesday earlier this week, in his 25th Championship outing of the season.

Swansea City are considering a transfer for Birmingham City’s Kyogo Furuhashi.
Given his troubles, there has been conjecture over the Japanese international’s future, with rumors earlier this month indicating that Celtic were interested in bringing Furuhashi back to Glasgow, but nothing has happened.
However, this does not guarantee Furuhashi will remain at Birmingham after the deadline, as Football Insider reports that he has surfaced as a target for Swansea.
They also say that the Blues would be open to offers for the player, whom they are estimated to have paid up to £10 million for in the summer.
Chris Davies has already added another striker to his squad this month, with the Blues signing August Priske in what was regarded as a real coup for the club, so he will expect to play a significant role in the coming months, competing with the likes of Marvin Ducksch, Jay Stansfield, and Kyogo – assuming the Japanese star stays in the Midlands.
Kyogo Furuhashi’s debut in England has not gone as planned,
but he could succeed in the Swansea City setup if a move occurs. On the surface, his goal record has been dismal, and Blues fans would have anticipated better given the money they paid to bring him in, as well as his record at Celtic before moving to France with Stade Rennais.
However, it does not reveal the full story. Furuhashi has had plenty of opportunities, from hitting the post on his debut to some dreadful finishing, and there’s little doubt that dismal run has harmed his confidence.

So selling him after he scored his first goal would be unusual, because he appears to be the type of player who may go on a run now that he has scored.
However, with Priske’s arrival, the Blues now have solid attacking alternatives, so if Swansea make a good offer, it’s understandable that they’d consider selling.
Furuhashi’s movement and desire to go in behind differ from their present choices, and their style of play may allow him to perform to his full potential.
Zan Vipotknik has been fantastic this season, but he needs backup, and Adam Idah is now out with a hamstring injury, so it’s easy to understand why they would be looking for another number nine, and Furuhashi would certainly provide something different.
