Chris Wilder feels Sheffield United will win games if they continue to create as many chances as they did against Queens Park Rangers.
The match between the Blades and the Rs at Bramall Lane ended goalless, but Wilder’s side had more than enough chances to win three points.
They were unable to find their clinical edge in the final third, but post-match fan reaction revealed a valiant attempt.
Wilder was encouraged by the performance and remains optimistic that the Blades, who are now in 23rd place, will reverse their slump.

Chris Wilder’s verdict
He stated, “We’ve talked a lot about why we lost football games. I’m not spinning anything; I don’t need to. We’ve lost football games because we inflicted harm on ourselves with the goals we conceded. The good news for today is that we didn’t.
“We got into some excellent positions, but when you take a split-second too long, your touch is just a touch heavy, or your pass is half a yard off, it affects the result of the game.
“If we create the number of opportunities we have, and if we get into the positions we have, we will win football games in this division.” The goal is to avoid shooting yourself in the foot, which we didn’t.
“I thought they [the fans] gave everything to try help us get the win and the most frustrating thig for me is we didn’t execute and deliver that result, because they deserved it as much as the players did.”
Ben Mee updates
There was significant concern when Ben Mee was replaced at halftime, but Wilder assured fans that the experienced defender would be fine.

He explained: “He was hobbling around, went for a tackle, and got a knock on his ankle. He will be alright. He’s been wonderful for us; he’ll recover.
“The benefit is that we have two weeks to work on him. Gus [Hamer] will return, as will [Tahith] Chong and [Oliver] Arblaster. [Michael] Cooper will be OK. “There are a few bumps and bruises from today.”
