Middlesbrough’s Carlos Corberan might replace Wolves-bound Rob Edwards, according to talkSPORT.
Corberan, the former West Brom manager, is under pressure at Valencia after a disappointing start to the season.
The 42-year-old, who previously worked as an assistant coach for Leeds under Marcelo Bielsa, took over as Valencia manager last year.
He has a contract until 2027, but he is under pressure to turn around the club’s current slump, which has resulted in only two wins this season.
Valencia is presently 19th in LaLiga, one point from the basement, after losing 4-0 away to Real Madrid.
Nonetheless, Corberan’s Championship experience has positioned him as a prospective candidate for Middlesbrough.
Boro have been obliged to begin the process of firing manager Edwards, after allowing him to talk with Wolves.
Following recent developments over his future, the former Luton manager will not be on the touchline at the Riverside Stadium for the club’s game against Birmingham.
Edwards did not oversee Boro’s first-team training on Friday, and his pre-match press conference was also canceled.
According to a club statement, Middlesbrough Football Club has granted head coach Rob Edwards permission to talk with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, subject to the fulfillment of an agreement.
“We first rejected Wolves’ approach because Rob had signed a three-year contract with MFC less than six months before.
“After speaking with Rob, we were disappointed to find that he wished

“We have now accepted terms with Wolves, subject to the completion of the necessary documentation.
“First team coaches Adi Viveash and Harry Watling, and Academy manager Craig Liddle, will take charge of team affairs for Saturday’s game against Birmingham City at the Riverside.”
Why did Corberan quit West Bromwich?
Valencia activated Corberan’s release clause, which was expected to be over £4 million, to sign him from the Baggies in December.
At the time, West Brom were tied on points and goal difference with sixth-place Middlesbrough.
11 months later, Corberan may return to the Championship, with his old team in 15th, but Boro are currently third in the table.

Meanwhile, Edwards is on his way to joining Wolves, who are now the only winless team in English football’s top four divisions.
Wanderers sacked Vitor Pereira of his duties following a 3-0 loss to Fulham last weekend.
Wolves’ youth managers, James Collins and Richard Walker, will take charge of tonight’s trip to Chelsea, which is live on talkSPORT.
