Micky van de Ven scored a spectacular solo goal against Copenhagen in the Champions League.
Spurs defeated Copenhagen on Tuesday to return to winning ways after two consecutive setbacks, including a crushing 1-0 home loss to Chelsea.
They defeated the Danish side 4-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Van de Ven netting a season-best goal after snubbing Thomas Frank following their defeat to Chelsea.
He picked up a loose ball on the outskirts of his own box and sprinted the entire length of the pitch before slamming it past Dominik Kotarski to score his team’s third goal.
Van de Ven proceeded on one of his signature runs, defeating four Copenhagen players before scoring what is perhaps his best goal of his career and a contender for the competition’s goal of the season.

Regarding his goal, Van de Ven stated, “I started dribbling and thought I would see if they would catch up, but they didn’t.”
“I’m feeling fantastic, and I felt great during the sprint; I felt like I could keep going. [Cristian] Romero remained calm as well [for Joao Palhinha’s goal]; when I saw him in front, I wondered why he was there.
“When we got the red card I thought it was going to be tough but we stayed cool, we did what we needed to do and we killed the game off.”
Brennan Johnson (later dismissed), Wilson Odobert, and João Palhinha all scored.
Van de Ven’s goal comes just days after he snubbed Frank following the final whistle against Chelsea.
The Dutch defender and Djed Spence defied their head coach on Sunday but apologised ahead of tonight’s European game.
Speaking ahead of his team’s game against Copenhagen, Frank stated: “Micky and Djed came into my office yesterday and simply wanted to apologize for the incident. They did not want it to appear negative or rude.
“That was not their objective toward me, the squad, or the club. They were simply irritated by the performance, loss, and booing during the game.”
Spurs, meanwhile, climb up to seventh place with eight points.
They return to Premier League play on Saturday, facing Manchester United.
