The Premier League side was eliminated from the Carabao Cup after losing to Crystal Palace at Anfield.
Following Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup fourth round, the club’s administration reportedly made a decision on Arne Slot’s future.
On Wednesday, a much-changed Liverpool team, including debutants Freddie Woodman and Kieran Morrison, suffered another defeat against Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace.
The south London team won their third game against Liverpool this season, having already beaten them in the Community Shield and Premier League.
With Eagles winger Ismaila Sarr scoring twice in the first half, Glasner’s side led 2-0 at the break, with Liverpool struggling in attack.
The home team’s evening was summed up when 18-year-old defender Amara Nallo was sent off for the second time in two senior outings in the 79th minute, despite only playing 16 minutes in his two games. Then, three minutes from time, Yeremy Pino made it 3-0 for the visiting team in the pouring rain.
Liverpool’s sixth loss in seven games, with their sole win coming in the Champions League against Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1.

So, with Liverpool out of the League Cup and trailing Arsenal in the Premier League championship battle, questions are being raised about Slot and his team, despite the Dutchman clearly having so-called’money in the bank’ after winning the title in his first season as manager.
Liverpool’s matchups will not get much easier in the coming weeks, with the in-form Aston Villa visiting Anfield on Saturday before facing Real Madrid at home in the Champions League, followed by a trip to the Etihad to face Manchester City only five days later.
If the results do not change, pressure on Slot’s position will undoubtedly increase, with journalist Fabrizio Romano exposing what he knows about how Liverpool’s leadership feels about the current scenario on his YouTube channel.

“Liverpool operates entirely internally… Internally, the leadership, ownership, and all of the club’s employees have complete faith in Arne Slot,” Romano stated.
“They are absolutely confident that Arne Slot is the right manager to handle this scenario.
“Obviously, it’s been a difficult start to the season, but Liverpool are confident everything will be fine, that it will take some time to examine the team with the new acquisitions, to modify something, and to return to the mindset of last season.
“But Liverpool have complete faith in Slot. On a daily basis, there is excellent contact between the directors, the entire club’s management, and Arne Slot.
