Simon Jordan is ‘curious’ as to why the Nottingham Forest owner admires Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers is in the final year of his Celtic contract, and 67 Hail Hail understands he and the club’s management are not close to agreeing on new terms.
According to talkSPORT, Rodgers could quit Celtic next summer, potentially returning to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, he was connected with the managerial position at Forest before Celtic legend Ange Postecoglou replaced the dismissed Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Sun said that owner Evangelos Marinakis is an admirer of Rodgers and has ‘had his sights set on Rodgers for months’.
Postecoglou is under intense pressure to deliver, and Rodgers’ name has come up again, though he is unlikely to leave Celtic before next summer.

Jordan asks “curious” queries. Forest admires Rodgers from talkSPORT. Simon Jordan dislikes Rodgers and has accused the Northern Irishman of blaming everyone but himself while supposedly ‘distancing himself’ from Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson.
Jordan has now gone after Rodgers again, challenging Marinakis’ enthusiasm for the Celtic boss.
Jordan spoke live on talkSPORT: “I can see it in Brendan’s eyes, sure (return to Premier League). Because it is likely where he wants to be.
“Obviously, it suited him to return to Celtic since the Leicester ship was sinking, and he didn’t fancy that any more.
“And when he left Celtic, the Leicester opportunity outweighed the Celtic one, and he didn’t want that one at Celtic anymore.
“So he probably no longer wants to play for Celtic and would want to play in the Premier League. I’m wondering as to why Marinakis admires Brendan so much.
“That would be an interesting situation to have explained to me exactly what he admires about Brendan, in conjunction with Nottingham Forest doing something meaningful in the Premier League.”
“What I’m saying is, ultimately, I’m curious to see why the conversation about Brendan is then permeated with the expression that he’s an admirer of Brendan Rodgers, how we know that, where that has come from and why that is the case.”
Ange Postecoglou now faces huge Chelsea test
Whether Marinakis likes Rodgers or not, the Celtic manager will not leave Parkhead until his contract expires.
It means Forest will have to go elsewhere if Marinakis decides to fire Postecoglou, who has only been with the club for seven games.
His Forest side meet Chelsea on Saturday as the Premier League returns, and the Celtic icon needs a win.
A point or win would undoubtedly extend his stay, but a defeat would almost definitely be the end for big Ange.
