Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has left the Norway camp ahead of the friendly against New Zealand.
Over the weekend, Haaland began for Norway in a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Israel at Oslo’s Ullevaal Stadion.
The City star was in a wild mood as he scored a hat-trick to help Norway win 5-0. Anan Khalaili and Idan Nachmias of Israel scored the other two goals on their own.
As a result, Staale Solbakken’s men lead their table by six points over Italy.
Norway will return to play on Tuesday with a friendly encounter against New Zealand at Oslo’s Ullevaal Stadion.
However, it has been revealed that Haaland will not play after being removed from the camp alongside four other players.
According to The Sun, the Norwegian Football Association issued the following statement: “Sebastian Sebulonsen is a member of the Norwegian national team squad, and he and Sverre Nypan are training today.
Alexander Sorloth, Julian Ryerson, Erling Braut Haaland, and Fredrik Bjorkan are among the players heading home who have extremely demanding match schedules. Felix Horn Myhre is quitting the team because of a painful ankle.”
Haaland has had a great start to the 25/26 Premier League season, scoring nine goals in seven games.
City, who are presently sixth in the rankings, will return to play this weekend against Everton at the Etihad Stadium.
Haaland claimed that he is in the finest shape of his life after scoring the winning goal against Brentford the previous week.
He said, “I’ve never felt better than I do now, so you could say I’m in the best shape of my life.”
“First and foremost, I believe it is important to prepare. Preparing for the games. I’ve said it many times before: you can be physically ready, but you must also be emotionally prepared. To be honest, I think having a child makes me better, since I disconnect more than before.”
