Even former professionals can’t avoid the issue, as Jamie Carragher answers openly and honestly.
Jamie Carragher supports Celtic
During CBS Sports’ coverage of the Champions League in 2024, the former England international was asked who he prefers.
His answer was simple, but correct: “I’m Celtic.”
Carragher never played for Celtic or Rangers, and instead spent his whole career at Liverpool.
The former defender faced the Hoops three times in his career, all in the UEFA Cup, including a memorable quarter-final victory during Martin O’Neill’s side’s run to the final.
Jamie Carragher has changed his mind regarding the Celtic-Rangers argument.
While he may have given the correct answer in 2024, he held a different opinion four years prior.
Steven Gerrard turned down the opportunity to return to Rangers in 2025, but was in control of the Ibrox club in 2020.
During an Instagram Q&A, Carragher was asked if he liked Celtic or Rangers, just as he would on CBS.
That was his comment: “Right now it’s Rangers because of Steven Gerrard but as soon as Steven leaves it’ll be Celtic.”
