Every Man Utd Player in 2025/26 Ranked From Best to Worst – According to Stats

Manchester United has had a mixed season thus far, with lots of issues under Ruben Amorim. However, as we approach the October international break, there are some indications that things may be improving.

For the first time this season, the Red Devils have won back-to-back league home games at Old Trafford after defeating Sunderland 2-0. That relieves pressure on Amorim, who could have been fired if they had lost, and should also instill some confidence in the team.

Since taking over from Erik ten Hag, Amorim has not gotten the best out of his players, and it is difficult to find a single player who has actually developed under the Portuguese manager. Nonetheless, some males appear to be more attractive than others.

With that in mind, using WhoScored data, every Premier League player this season has been graded from worst to best based on their player rating.

20-16

Joshua Zirkzee is the worst performing player on the team this season, ranking 20th overall. The Dutch striker has yet to score a goal or assist in any competition (including the Premier League). Having failed to start a single league game, Amorim does not appear to have much faith in the 24-year-old, who has lost his spot in the team to summer arrival Benjamin Sesko.

Ayden Heaven is up next, but it would be unfair to pass judgement on him after only three minutes. The same cannot be said about Altay Bayindir, who was given the starting custodian position this season but appears to have already lost it.

Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo then round out the bottom five. Both men have struggled to find consistent playing time this season. Fans have been particularly irritated by Amorim’s refusal to put his trust in the young English midfielder, but he has clearly struggled to impress on the pitch.

Manuel Ugarte has been a cause of annoyance for many Manchester United fans, as he has frequently underwhelmed but is still picked ahead of Mainoo in midfield. His performances have not been particularly outstanding, but statistically, he has somewhat outperformed his English equivalent here.

Luke Shaw will be overjoyed to be getting consistent playing time in a World Cup year. With fitness being a constant issue for the left-back, he’s done well to appear in every league game thus far. However, his 6.36 rating demonstrates that he hasn’t exactly set the world on fire. Casemiro is another senior player who looks to have his manager’s trust, despite some glaring flaws.

Leny Yoro has also been a consistent performer in the league this season, although starting only twice. This is not surprising given Amorim’s tendency to substitute defenders during games. The bright teenager will look to improve following a shaky start to the season. Diogo Dalot has one Man of the Match performance this season but is another inconsistent player, which explains why he is ranked in the middle of the pack here.

Matheus Cunha will be upset not to have scored a league goal or provided an assist for his new club, but some of his performances have been promising, and injuries have also played a role. He joins fellow new recruits Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo in the top 10, having already made an impact at Manchester United.

Sesko now has back-to-back league goals for the Red Devils, and Mason Mount also scored in the victory over Sunderland. The Englishman could be a unique example of a player who performed better under Amorim than he did under Ten Hag. Noussair Mazraoui concludes this part. The dynamic defender has been one of the club’s finest players since joining from Bayern Munich in 2024, so it’s little wonder he’s high on the list.

Amad Diallo may not have scored or assisted this season, but he has often been forced to play as a wing-back. However, he has pushed harder in recent weeks and appears to be benefiting from it. Patrick Dorgu has been playing wing-back on the opposite flank and has consistently posed a threat from the left. If he could only improve his final product (one assist this season), he may become one of the club’s most remarkable players.

Bruno Fernandes has played in every game this season, which is unsurprising, but his high ranking may raise some questions. The midfielder has often struggled to perform well when forced to play in a deeper role. That he is third here may indicate how poorly some of his teammates have performed.

To demonstrate this argument, only one player has improved his rating above the average of 7.0 this season. Matthijs de Ligt comes in second, having been solid defensively for the most part. However, the only individual to break that 7.0 mark benefits from the fact that he has only played once.

Indeed, new custodian Senne Lammens ranks it first, though the data is obviously flawed. Still, Manchester United fans will be keen to have a trustworthy custodian in between the sticks, and the Belgian looked solid in his debut against Sunderland. If he can keep his place at the top in the coming months, the club might have finally discovered a viable successor to David de Gea.
