England manager Thomas Tuchel has justified Jude Bellingham’s absence from the squad for the forthcoming October internationals. The Three Lions will play a friendly against neighbours Wales at Wembley Stadium for the Alzheimer’s Society before returning to World Cup qualifying action in Latvia.
It looked that the Real Madrid star was left out due to a lack of match sharpness following shoulder surgery, but Tuchel’s words, although implying that was a part in his choice, have subsequently aroused some concerns. He stated (watch below):
“I understand your focus on Jude [Bellingham], who is an exceptional talent. There is no personal issue; we have decided to remain with the same squad as last time. He also lacks rhythm; he hasn’t played a full match [this season], as I stated.”
