Craigan: Rangers’ title hopes are fading fast as Celtic push for fifth straight crown.
Celtic have dominated Scottish football for the past 25 years, and their dominance shows little sign of waning. With Brendan Rodgers’ team only two points behind Hearts in the Premiership, they are on course for a sixth title in a succession.

However, the Rangers continue to struggle. Their season is swiftly unravelling, as they sit seventh in the table and are already seven points behind Celtic.
Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, pundit Stephen Craigan emphasised how difficult it is for Russell Martin to even get near to Rodgers’ team.
“In the previous four seasons, the title winners ended with 92, 93, 99, and 93 points. To get even 90, the Rangers would need to win 28 of their remaining 33 games. That is a big challenge. If results do not improve quickly, the league campaign is virtually over.”
Celtic’s unwavering consistency—never falling below 90 points in recent years—makes them clear favourites.
While Hearts appear to be their nearest competitors, it is unlikely that they can sustain a season-long title struggle. With more resources and team depth, Celtic still have a chance to pull ahead as the season progresses.
