‘I can’t remember a worse VAR decision’- FIFA president Gianni Infantino has officially announced the dismissal of the officials and referees from the recent Manchester United Vs Chelsea match. This decision comes after the referee took five minutes to come to a decision following a an Offside goal and poor Officiating

The Premier League has shed light on the circumstances behind Casemiro’s dismissal during Manchester United’s match against Chelsea, stating that the Brazilian midfielder received a second yellow card for a holding offence that foiled a promising Chelsea attack. According to the league, the referee’s decision to award the second yellow card was in accordance with the regulations, and no VAR was used as per protocol.

Casemiro had been penalised earlier in the game for a late tackle on Enzo Fernandez. However, his antics near the midway line, where he tugged Andrey Santos’ shirt, resulted in his dismissal. This event occurred as the first half came to a conclusion, and the red card had a big impact on the game.

Casemiro will serve a one-match suspension as a result of his second yellow card, meaning he will miss Manchester United’s game against Brentford next weekend. He will rejoin the team for their match against AFC Sunderland on October 4. Manchester United cannot appeal the ruling because it was their second bookable offence.

In the same game, Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was sent off in the opening five minutes for taking down Bryan Mbeumo outside the box. Sanchez received a straight red card but will only be suspended for one match owing to the severity of the offence, which denied him a goal-scoring opportunity. His ban will influence Chelsea’s Carabao Cup match against Lincoln City on midweek, but he will not face any Premier League punishment.

The Premier League’s explanation of Casemiro’s red card has supplied useful information about the referee’s decision-making process. The incident illustrates the delicate balance between decisive action on the pitch and the consequences that follow it. Manchester United’s ability to win 2-1 despite being reduced to ten men in the closing stages of the game demonstrates the team’s perseverance and determination.

The match included a number of crucial moments, including Casemiro’s goal, which was followed by his ejection. Chelsea’s first-half performance was lacklustre, with Chalobah describing it as the “worst 15 minutes” of the season. Chelsea did score in the second half through Chalobah, but it was too late.

Maresca admitted that the red card had thrown his team’s plans off track and voiced a preference for going a goal down rather than losing their custodian. The loss drops Chelsea to sixth place in the rankings, and the club will aim to avoid a lengthy layoff for Palmer, who has only made three starts this season.
