Marcus Rashford Achieves Barcelona Feat He Never Managed at Man Utd

Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona career has gotten off to a great start.

For Barcelona, Marcus Rashford accomplished something that he was unable to accomplish at Manchester United.

Rashford departed Old Trafford on loan for Barcelona during the summer transfer window after losing favour at United under Ruben Amorim.

The 27-year-old has put on some outstanding performances since moving to Spain.

Rashford was the highlight of last week’s UEFA Champions League victory as he scored two goals to help Barcelona defeat Newcastle United 2-1.

Rashford made a comeback to the starting lineup on Thursday night after being benched by Barcelona manager Hansi Flick for the team’s match against Getafe the previous weekend.

Flick gave the following explanation for his decision to bench Rashford: “For Rashford, it’s normal not to play. Every three or four days there are matches. His minutes need to be managed.

“With Fermin, you witnessed that. We must consider the fact that he played a lot of minutes. We won by a score of 3-0. Everything is fantastic. We have to concentrate on our game.

“We scored three goals, and scoring three goals against a formidable opponent isn’t always simple. I would prefer to discuss my team rather than the opposition. We have to concentrate on our strategy and game.

After Alberto Reina’s goal in the 33rd minute against Real Oviedo, Barcelona had to rally from behind.

Ultimately, a 3-1 victory was achieved thanks to goals from Ronald Araujo, Robert Lewandowski, and Eric Garcia.

Rashford’s corner found the Uruguayan defender’s head, setting up Araujo’s goal.

Rashford has managed to assist a goal straight off a corner for the Catalan Club, something he seems to have never done while he was at United.

Barcelona’s victory over Real Oviedo put them two points clear of Real Madrid, their bitter rivals who have won all six of their games this season, and up to 16 points in the La Liga standings.

This Saturday afternoon, Flick’s team will return to La Liga action as they play Real Sociedad at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
