Richarlison Delivers Blunt Verdict on 2025 Ballon d’Or Rankings

When discussing his opinion on the final Ballon d’Or standings, the Spurs striker didn’t mince words.

In response to the 2025 men’s Ballon d’Or rankings, Richarlison, a striker for Tottenham Hotspur, posted a direct statement on social media.

Several of the world’s top players were awarded at the Ballon d’Or event on a memorable night honouring the beautiful game at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris, France.

At the presentation, Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí became the first player to win the women’s Ballon d’Or three times, and Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele was crowned the 2025 men’s Ballon d’Or winner.

The Kopa Trophy winner for best young player, Lamine Yamal, came in second in the men’s rankings, ahead of Raphinha in fifth place, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, and Vitinha, a midfielder for PSG and Portugal.

Spurs striker Richarlison expressed his opinions on social media shortly after the final rankings were announced, and it’s easy to assume that he is not pleased.

Richarlison was obviously hopeful that the Barcelona player would win the 2025 Ballon d’Or because he had played with Raphinha while playing for Brazil’s national team.

Many fans were startled to see the winger finish as low as fifth in the rankings, despite the fact that he was not thought to be the frontrunner to win the prize.

Richarlison swiftly posted an announcement of Raphinha’s rating on his Instagram story, accompanied by an embarrassed face emoji, suggesting that he was equally upset to see his countryman finish so poorly.

Together, Richarlison and Raphinha have made 11 appearances for the Brazil national team, the majority of which were in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
