Israel Could Be Banned From World Cup as UEFA ‘Plan’ Revealed

According to a recent story, Israeli officials are attempting to stop the transfer.

According to sources, the Israeli national team faces the possibility of being disqualified from UEFA competitions, which might have an effect on their World Cup qualifying campaign.

According to the health ministry headed by Hamas, Israel’s military operation in Gaza has killed almost 60,000 Palestinians since the war started in October 2023.

According to the United Nations’ World Food Programme, 500,000 people in the Gaza Strip are “on the brink of starvation,” and humanitarian relief is critically needed. The situation there has gotten worse.

Israel’s decision to target Hamas leaders in Qatar earlier this month sparked condemnation and indignation around the world.

According to a report from the Israel-based website Mako, pressure has been applied in recent days to ban Israel from UEFA competitions following the Israeli raid on Qatar on September 9.

According to the magazine, UEFA plans to discuss potentially suspending the Israeli national team from European competition qualifications at an upcoming executive meeting.

Maccabi Tel Aviv’s participation in the Europa League will be discussed as well.

“After the Israeli attack on Qatar, one of UEFA’s largest sponsors, pressure has been exerted in recent days to expel Israel from the organisation’s competitions,” according to a Mako statement.

“This entails withdrawing the Israeli national team from European tournament qualifying and suspending Maccabi Tel Aviv’s participation in the Europa League.

“This is expected to be discussed at the UEFA executive meeting as early as next week. Israeli officials are attempting to thwart the transfer.

The journal also featured a remark from an Israeli official who stated, “We are one step away from reaching the situation of Russia.”

While Russia is still forbidden from participating in matches staged by football’s European and global regulating organisations, Israel has not been subjected to widespread exclusion by sports institutions such as FIFA.

According to a report by The Times of Israel, Israel’s national squad is now competing in a UEFA-organized qualifying round for next year’s FIFA World Cup.

Ran Ben-Shimon’s side is currently third in their World Cup qualifying group. They face Italy and Norway next month.

FIFA and UEFA have yet to publish a firm statement, thus the situation is unclear. SPORTbible has contacted UEFA for comment.
