Manchester United fans have reacted on social media to what Amad Diallo did with Alejandro Garnacho after the Chelsea game.
On Saturday evening, United welcomed Chelsea to Old Trafford, hoping to get their 25/26 season back on track.
The Blues, who were unbeaten coming into the game, were reduced to ten men after Robert Sanchez fouled Bryan Mbeumo within five minutes.
United went ahead 2-0 thanks to strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro.
Just before halftime, Casemiro was sent off for two bookable offences.
Chelsea fought hard in the second period to get back into the game, and Trevoh Chalobah made it 2-1 with 80 minutes remaining.
Eventually, Ruben Amorim’s side held on for a much-needed victory, propelling them to 10th position in the Premier League rankings.
Following the match, United’s Amad took to social media to share a photo of himself and Garnacho, who departed Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
The two posed in front of the camera, holding each other’s shirts.
On social media, one fan commented, “We should stop doing this; there are no buddies before and after the game. “We should not be smiling and taking pictures.”
Another tweeter commented, “Not a good look Amad…”
A third fan commented, “Nice!” Tell Chelsea to take him next.
Someone else commented: “Not a good look for Amad, to say the least.”
However, a fifth remarked, “You all need to let it go.” It’s not that deep; they’re good pals.
On Sunday morning, Amad appears to have erased both the Garnacho article and all of his Instagram posts.
Enzo Maresca explains the Alejandro Garnacho snub
Despite the fact that Chelsea were chasing the game, manager Enzo Maresca decided against starting Garnacho, instead going with Tyrique George.
After the game, Maresca was questioned about his decision to ignore Garnacho.
He stated, “Garnacho was prepared to go on, but Wes [Fofana] requested a change because he was tired after a long time.”
“So we changed and we decided to go for Malo Gusto, the idea [had been] to give Garnacho minutes.”
