Real Madrid Ready ‘Record’ Fee for Man United Star

Florentino Perez is ‘ready’ to sanction Real Madrid’s pursuit, according to Spanish media reports.

Real Madrid are willing to spend a’record’ fee to capture a Manchester United star, according to a fresh claim.

Real signed Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Carreras, and Franco Mastantuono during the summer transfer season.

They spent approximately £150 million on their new recruits but have plans to make other acquisitions.

Xabi Alonso is still looking for a new midfielder, and club president Florentino Perez is ‘ready’ to approve a trade.

According to Spanish outlet E-Noticies, Real Madrid is interested in signing Kobbie Mainoo, with top scout Juni Calafat keeping an eye on him in the coming months.

According to the report, Real are willing to pay £78.5 million to get Mainoo away from Old Trafford.

A sum in the area of £70-80 million would be a record academy graduate sale for Manchester United, with Alejandro Garnacho’s current record of £40 million following his departure to Chelsea.

Real have heavy competition to recruit Mainoo, with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham also keeping an eye on the 20-year-old’s progress at Manchester United.

His future at Manchester United is surrounded by uncertainty following a disappointing summer and start to the new season.

Mainoo has appeared in only two league games this season and is yet to make his league debut.

He planned to leave the club over the summer, but the move did not happen.

What did Ruben Amorim say about not playing Kobbie Mainoo?
Mainoo has only started one game this season, in his side’s stunning Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town.

In the league, he has made two substitute appearances, but Amorim claims he ‘believes’ in him.

Ruben Amorim revealed before Manchester United’s stunning defeat to Manchester City last weekend: “Like many of his teammates, he wants to play more.”

“I believe in Kobbie, but some of you say that Kobbie Mainoo is already finished. I believe he can do much better. He can make significant improvements.

“And I believe that for some players, [the level he is currently playing at] is sufficient. For him, it’s not enough. Maybe it’s not fair, but I believe I’m assisting Kobbie Mainoo and that’s it.”

Amorim added: “He will have the same opportunity as the other men. If I think he’s the best player to play this week, he’ll play, as I’ve already proven to every player here.

“I believe a lot in him. I agree with you that he is a top talent, but he has the potential to be even better, so I’m focusing on that.
