Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool for Real Madrid this summer.
Liverpool has been forced to take dramatic action to prevent Real Madrid from approaching another of their players, according to reports.
The Reds lost Trent Alexander-Arnold to Los Blancos this summer.
The England international was set to join the club on a free transfer, but Real paid a £10 million fee to get him out of his contract early in order to compete in the Club World Cup.
Liverpool moved fast to recruit Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong as a replacement.
Ibrahima Konate, who is in the final year of his contract with Liverpool, has recently been linked with a free transfer to Real Madrid.
The Reds have now recruited potential 18-year-old centre-back Giovanni Leoni from Parma, while a £35 million transfer for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi fell through on deadline day.
However, Real Madrid is currently after another Liverpool player.
According to Fichajes, the Spanish giants are ‘closely following’ wonderkid Rio Ngumoha, whose contract will end in 2026.
However, the same source claims that Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes is planning to present a long-term contract to keep the forward at Anfield.
Ngumoha scored Liverpool’s winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Newcastle last month, sending a right-footed shot into the upper right corner from the penalty area.

He became only the fourth Premier League player in history, after James Vaughan, Wayne Rooney, and James Milner, to score a goal before turning 17.
Ngumoha later told Liverpool’s official website how excited he was to break into the Liverpool first team and score his first senior goal.
“It was crazy,” he explained. “He [Slot] looked at me and gestured at me, like, ‘be on, be ready, you just have to come on and make an impression’. Fortunately and thank God, I did it.
“As soon as the ball arrived, all I could think about was backing myself to score. I heard the fans yelling my name. That is a great moment.
“But you can’t get carried away with all the noise, because at the end of the day, I probably do that finish 100 times a day on the practice pitch, so it’s no different with the crowd. But obviously, with the supporters behind you, it’s crazy.”
