Manchester United fans have given their unambiguous verdict on Benjamin Sesko following his performance in Slovenia’s 2-2 draw with Sweden on Friday night. Over the summer, the Red Devils bought the forward for £73.7 million, which many considered as the final piece of their attacking puzzle.
The former RB Leipzig striker, who scored 27 goals in his last two Bundesliga seasons, comes shortly after Premier League duo Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo joined United’s attack line earlier in the transfer window. However, after four games, the 6ft 5in Slovenian is still waiting for his first goal at Old Trafford, having been eased in due to a lack of full fitness.
His performance against Sweden this weekend, while not spectacular, provided some incentive for those watching to do a little further research on the 22-year-old. After Anthony Martial and Rasmus Hojlund’s failures, Theatre of Dreams followers are impatient for Sesko to finally deliver.

In his 90-minute performance, Sesko had 32 touches, completed 79% of his passes, won all of his aerial duels, and won two of six ground duels. The lack of a single shot on goal was an apparent disadvantage, but his physicality and drive to participate had United fans warily chanting his praises.
“Sesko played quite well. I saw the game,” one X user commented, while another added: “Sesko’s performance tonight was far from spectacular. That was said. He looked like a significantly better player than Woltemade did last night, despite playing better opposition.” Meanwhile, a third commented (see Sesko’s match highlights below):
“I genuinely wouldn’t care if Sesko is all strength and heading (which he’s isn’t) because he’d create space out wide and also get on the end of Mbeumo’s crosses.”
