Cole Palmer left a strange comment on Kobbie Mainoo’s latest social media post, which has gotten followers talking.
Despite apparently seeking to leave Manchester United on loan, Mainoo remained a player beyond Monday’s transfer deadline.
Manager Ruben Amorim announced that he intended to keep the 20-year-old midfielder despite not starting him in either of United’s first two Premier League games.
He played the second half of Burnley’s 3-2 triumph last weekend, although it was his first Premier League appearance of the season.
Perhaps predictably, Mainoo was not included to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the next World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.
Instead, he is working hard at United’s Carrington training facility in a bid to reclaim his place in Amorim’s preferred starting lineup.
Following his latest Instagram post, Palmer, who is now on international duty with England, responded in an unexpected manner.
The Chelsea attacking midfielder commented, “3 my boy.
Another interesting photo in the same post sparked discussion among followers about its probable implications.
It featured a screenshot from the film ‘Whiplash’, in which, at one scene (and in basic words), the primary character works so hard that he reclaims his place in the core of his ensemble.

Does Chelsea want to sign Mainoo?
Chelsea did deal directly with Manchester United this summer, paying £40 million for Alejandro Garnacho.
They also signed Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United last year, and United secured a deal to sign Blues midfielder Mason Mount in 2023.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Enzo Maresca’s team did not make an attempt to recruit Mainoo before the most recent window closed.
Tottenham, Aston Villa, and Everton are said to have expressed an interest in signing the England international on loan.
All three teams were successful in bringing in midfielders in the final days of the transfer window, with Spurs obtaining Xavi Simons, Villa acquiring Harvey Elliott, and Everton securing Merlin Rohl.
Chelsea loaned Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton, but that was their only midfield purchase throughout the window.
With Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and Romeo Lavia available, as well as returning Strasbourg loanee Andrey Santos, Maresca clearly believes he has enough to see Chelsea through the rest of the season – or at least until January.
