Gianluigi Donnarumma completed his transfer from PSG to Manchester City on transfer deadline day. PSG judged the Italian surplus to needs after signing Lucas Chevalier, and he joined City for a reputed sum of roughly €35 million.
Donnarumma told Man City’s official website after his move: “Signing for Manchester City is such a special and proud moment for me.

Donnarumma will wear a unique shirt number.
Donnarumma is anticipated to replace James Trafford as Manchester City’s main goalkeeper right away. The Italian wore the number one shirt for PSG during the 2024/25 season, but because Trafford already had that number, he had to choose another.
And he’s created Manchester City history by wearing the 99 shirt, which he wore when at AC Milan. He is the first Manchester City player to wear the number that indicates his birth year, 1999.
According to Manchester World journalist Rich Fay, the Italian wore it at PSG before being obliged to switch to the number one jersey according to Ligue 1 squad number requirements.
