Garnacho joined Chelsea in a £40 million transfer from Manchester United.
Rival fans have accused Alejandro Garnacho of “lying” during his first interview at Chelsea.
Garnacho, 21, has finally moved to Stamford Bridge after being frozen out at Manchester United by head coach Ruben Amorim.
After being left out of United’s pre-season tour of the United States, the Argentina international was relegated to the infamous ‘Bomb Squad’ alongside Jadon Sancho and Antony.
After being linked with Garnacho in January, Chelsea signed the winger on Saturday for £40 million, including a 10% sell-on clause for United.
Garnacho was in attendance for Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over local rivals Fulham, but he risked upsetting his new club just minutes into his debut at Stamford Bridge when he was caught scrolling through his phone early in the game.

Chelsea released Garnacho’s first interview with the club on Sunday morning, in which he described signing for the Blues as a “incredible feeling.”
“I think it’s a bigger step,” Garnacho stated.
“The situation of the club, it’s a good step for me and my career and hopefully it’s going to go well for me.”
While the phrase could be interpreted as a veiled dig at United, another statement made by Garnacho piqued the interest of rival fans.
Later in the interview, Garnacho stated that as a youngster, he supported Chelsea “a little bit” because of Eden Hazard.
“I used to watch the Premier League when I was younger,” Garnacho remarked, holding up photos of himself wearing Chelsea jerseys.
“Obviously Chelsea, because I admire Eden Hazard. That is why I support Chelsea to some extent.”
Rival fans quickly mocked Garnacho’s claim to support the Blues.
“A bit? “You liar,” one admirer wrote on X.

Another person said, “Obviously, he’s reading a script.”
A third wrote: “Can you help Chelsea a little? “He is taking the p***.”
A Chelsea fan joked: “Lol, everyone is a fan when we sign them.”
Garnacho will be hoping to make a solid start at Chelsea, and he could get another chance to shine in another west London derby, with Enzo Maresca’s side next facing Brentford on September 13.
They will then face Bayern Munich, who were also connected with Garnacho this summer, in the Champions League on September 17, followed by his former side Manchester United at Old Trafford on September 20.
