Ruben Amorim has frozen Antony out at Manchester United.
Manchester United outcast Antony has been held in limbo this summer, but he could be one step closer to leaving Old Trafford.
The 25-year-old winger arrived at Old Trafford with a big reputation and an even greater price tag from Ajax in the summer of 2022, with United paying the Dutch club a stunning £86 million for his talents.
However, the Brazilian has struggled to adjust to life in England, scoring just five goals and providing three assists in 62 Premier League games.
Following Ruben Amorim’s arrival as Manchester United manager, Antony struggled to get minutes, prompting a loan move to La Liga side Real Betis last season.
The attacker was a revelation in Spain, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in both the league and the UEFA Conference League.
His performances helped Betis to the Conference League final, when they were defeated by Premier League rivals Chelsea.
His improved form aided Betis, but it also raised the possibility that Manchester United might want a greater transfer cost for him this summer.
Despite the hike, several teams have reportedly expressed interest in signing the forward.

Betis have expressed their wish to sign him on a permanent basis, and Football Espana reports that Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr is intrigued.
However, one of the biggest names in Turkish football appears to have joined the party.
Fenerbahce, presently commanded by former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, are interested in signing Antony, according to ESPN Brazil’s Bruno Andrade.
Furthermore, the sports journalist believes Mourinho’s team has an advantage over rivals Betis since they are willing to pay United’s €45 million (£39 million) asking price.
According to Spanish daily El Chiringuito, United fixed the asking price earlier in the transfer window.

The Red Devils are eager to raise finances following a busy summer transfer window in which they signed three high-profile players.
They have signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Amorim’s side will be trying to move up the standings following a disastrous 2024/25 season in which they finished 15th in the Premier League.
They also failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League after losing 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
What has Antony stated about his future?
Antony revealed after the Conference League final defeat to Chelsea that he was worried about his future.
“I do not know what will happen in the future; only God does. “My job is to play, and I’m doing a good job of it,” the Brazilian explained.
“I have a lot of passion for Betis and everyone, but I have a contract with Manchester United and I’m not sure what will happen.
“Now I’m going to the national team and then on vacation; we’ll see what happens in the future. I am extremely pleased here, as everyone knows, but I have a contract.
