David de Gea has already intimated that he could return to Manchester United.
According to the Sun, United are considering making a deal for long-serving goalkeeper David de Gea.
The Old Trafford club is claimed to have been informed that the 34-year-old’s Fiorentina contract includes a clause that allows him to leave for a modest fee.
The publication also stated that quiet background calls were being made after De Gea made a good impression on his return to United for a friendly last weekend.
Indeed, following that game, De Gea stated that he may cross paths with United fans again in the future, which some have interpreted as a hint that the Spaniard may re-sign with the Manchester club.
De Gea wrote on social media: “A magical moment for me and my family to return to Old Trafford — my home.”
“From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for the reception and all the kindness you have shown me.
“To the fans who never ceased supporting me throughout my stay at this club. Our paths may cross again. “We have seen it all!”
De Gea made 545 appearances for United between 2011 and 2023, ranking eighth all-time.

However, due to a contract dispute, the player left on a free transfer two summers ago and was replaced by Inter Milan’s Onana for £43.8 million.
De Gea was without a team for the whole 2023-24 season before signing with Fiorentina last summer.
“I know United has struggled in recent years, but this is one of the best clubs in the world,” De Gea said about his ambitions for the upcoming season.
“This is a large club. Hopefully, with fresh additions and a new manager, they will be able to achieve great things this year.
“Let’s see, hopefully they can win something and be there where they deserve.”
