According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United is becoming more certain that Benjamin Sesko will join them if they can come to an arrangement with RB Leipzig.
The Premier League powerhouses think Sesko is waiting for a breakthrough in negotiations, therefore Man United is now concentrating on signing a contract with Leipzig.
After the Magpies raised their offer to at least €80 million (£68 million) earlier this week, Newcastle’s offer to Leipzig is still the “stronger” of the two offers.
Man United is certain that they will sign Benjamin Sesko.
Despite a better bid from Newcastle
Sesko has made it “clear” that he wants to join Manchester United and is currently awaiting an agreement between the teams on his departure, according to Jacobs’ post on X:
Sesko is Man United’s top objective as they want to bolster Ruben Amorim’s attacking options even more this summer.
The Red Devils have already added two high-profile senior players, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, and they have been searching for a new number nine to go with the two.
Sesko has made 87 appearances in all competitions over his two seasons at Leipzig, scoring 39 goals and dishing out eight assists, making him one of the most promising forwards in Europe.
United’s initial bid for the Slovenian is little less than €85 million (£74 million), which includes an initial £65 million plus approximately £8.9 million in performance-related add-ons.
