Benjamin Sesko transfer saga takes stunning twist as star forward ‘chooses’ between Man Utd and Newcastle

For Benjamin Sesko, a fresh bid has been submitted.

As Manchester United and Newcastle United pursue the RB Leipzig forward, the story of Benjamin Sesko’s move has taken an unexpected turn.

Despite missing out on their initial objectives to their domestic rivals, Sesko has emerged as Man United and Newcastle’s top centre forward choice.

The Magpies lost out on Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, who were both signed by Chelsea, while the Red Devils were in the running for Viktor Gyokeres, who ultimately joined Arsenal.

Since then, Man United and Newcastle have focused on the 22-year-old, who is thought to be among the most promising players in Europe because of his Bundesliga performances.

The transfer speculation mill has been dominated by Sesko’s name, and a number of recent publications have offered additional information about where he might play football next season.

Sesko wants to join Eddie Howe’s team, and Newcastle is ‘moving ahead’ to get him, according to Craig Hope.

“Newcastle are tonight pushing ahead to agree a deal with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko after being given encouragement the striker wants to join,” he wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

Sources have emphasised that all results are still possible, but it is unclear what the player’s side has told Man United.

Particularly when the club was informed on Monday that he is willing to sign with the St. James’ Park team, there is a resolve to expedite a transaction.

According to David Ornstein, Newcastle has since submitted a second proposal for Sesko valued at least £70 million after first offering Leipzig £65.5 million.

Man United has not yet made a bid for the Slovenian, but according to Jan Age Fjortoft, Leipzig expects them to act “promptly.”

“Been told that RB Leipzig expect Manchester United to do something ‘promptly’,” he posted to X.

“As I mentioned yesterday, Manchester United is Sesko’s first pick. He must be persuaded, though, that the club can truly close the deal.

Sesko scored 21 goals in 45 games in all competitions last season, and it looks like he will play in the Premier League the following year.
