Man Utd fans spot what Marcus Rashford did after scoring first Barcelona goal and it speaks volumes

Fans were taken aback by the former Manchester United winger’s response after he scored his goal for Barcelona.

When Marcus Rashford scored his first goal for Barcelona, Manchester United supporters took notice of his peculiar reaction.

Rashford was rumoured to be leaving Manchester United when the transfer market opened this summer due to a public dispute with manager Ruben Amorim.

Rashford was said to be looking to stay in England for the near future following a successful short-term loan with Aston Villa, a team in the Premier League.

Rashford did, however, negotiate a loan move to La Liga powerhouse Barcelona following weeks of rumours that it was his ideal transfer. The Spanish team also obtained an option to make the move permanent at the end of the 2025–2026 season.

The England international scored his first goal for Barcelona less than two weeks after the transfer was finalised, but his response wasn’t what you would have expected.

Rashford made his debut shortly after earning the move to Barcelona, entering the game to take Raphinha’s place in the 46th minute of the team’s preseason friendly against Vissel Kobe of Japan.

Rashford picked up an assist in the last seconds of the 7-3 triumph in the subsequent friendly against Korean team FC Seoul, despite the fact that he did not contribute to any of the goals in the 3-1 victory.

Rashford went one step further by scoring the fifth and final goal in Barcelona’s 5-0 victory over Daegu FC in the 87th minute of their third and final friendly during their Asian tour.

However, supporters believe they may know why the Englishman downplayed any reaction to scoring his first Barcelona goal rather than celebrating it as one might expect.

One Barcelona supporter commented on X in response to the goal: “RASHFORD! He’s holding off on celebrating until he scores his first competitive goal.

“No need to act nonchalant, you just scored for Barcelona!” said another.

Rashford’s response, however, did not sit well with Manchester United supporters, who posted on X: “Rashford acting nonchalant like he doesn’t sleep every night in his barca pyjamas.”

Another person commented, “Rashford nonchalant gimmick, bro just do your celebration.”

Later this week, when Barcelona plays Serie A team Como for the Joan Gamper Trophy, Rashford might make his next debut for the team.

Six days later, they go to the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix to play RCD Mallorca to kick off their La Liga campaign.
