Alexander Isak bombshell drops from out of nowhere and it changes everything for Liverpool’s transfer window

The striker for Newcastle United is thought to be Liverpool’s ideal addition.

The plans for Liverpool’s transfer window may have been completely altered by a significant new development over Alexander Isak’s future.

Liverpool’s desire to add a new striker to their roster before the upcoming season has been evident since the transfer window opened in early June.

Hugo Ekitike, Jean-Philippe Mateta, and Newcastle star Isak—rumored to be Arne Slot’s ideal acquisition—are among the players that have been connected to a move to Anfield.

However, it has been widely reported that Newcastle has no intention of moving the Swedish international and views him as a crucial component of their future plans, despite Liverpool’s expectations of clinching a transfer for Isak.

However, according to two transfer analysts, there is still optimism for Isak to be signed, and Liverpool’s transfer season might still take a significant turn.

According to a recent story on X by Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool is finally getting ready to formally contact Newcastle as a club to discuss a record bid for Isak.

Newcastle will still have the last say, but if they decide not to sell their best player, Liverpool will try to sabotage the Magpies’ intended acquisition of Ekitike.

According to a follow-up report from David Ornstein, Liverpool has not yet submitted a formal proposal for Isak. They are aware of Newcastle’s position on the 25-year-old’s future, but they think a deal for around £120 million would be feasible.

The announcement was made just hours after it was made public that Newcastle’s first attempt to acquire Ekitike, thought to be valued around £70 million, was turned down by Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt.

The future of current striker Darwin Nunez would be in jeopardy if Liverpool made an offer for Isak in the upcoming weeks. The Uruguayan has been linked to Napoli and a number of Saudi Pro League clubs.

Mark Goldbridge presents a novel transfer theory by Alexander Isak.
Mark Goldbridge, a well-known Manchester United fan and YouTuber, thinks Liverpool’s move for Isak is a “power play” by the Premier League winners.

According to him, the Reds would end up acquiring either Isak or Ekitike, depriving Newcastle of the opportunity to acquire both forwards.

“Liverpool basically saying to Newcastle we’ll give you a world record bid for Isak or we’ll steal Ekitike from you,” Goldbridge wrote on X.

“Some power play.”
