Viktor Gyokeres, an Arsenal target, reportedly dumped his model girlfriend to focus on a transfer to the Premier League this summer. The current Sporting Lisbon striker scored 54 goals in 52 games last season, making him one of Europe’s most sought-after players.
It appeared that the former Coventry City forward would reunite with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford, as Manchester United continued to explore for a more talismanic striker than Rasmus Hojlund. While the Red Devils remain interested, current sources indicate that the Gunners are nearing an agreement to sign the Swedish international.
Gyokeres, 27, is keen to leave his current club to establish his ability to deliver at the greatest level, and has apparently been enraged by Sporting’s £70 million asking price, citing a gentleman’s agreement as the primary source of his discontent. He is currently refusing to report for pre-season training in protest, but his most controversial decision has been the dismissal of Portuguese girlfriend Ines Aguiar.

The actress and model began dating Gyokeres in the beginning of 2024, and the couple went public few months later. Earlier this season, Ines was caught on camera “promising” to convince her lover to stay in Lisbon. However, according to Corrieo Da Manha, a Portuguese source, they have since split up when Gyokeres ended the relationship.
According to The Sun, rumours began when Ines did not accompany him to the wedding of his Sporting teammate Morten Hjulmand, who was marrying her friend Emilie Sofie Nissen. Gyokeres then travelled on vacation by himself to Mykonos, Greece, while Ines travelled alone to Formentera.
It is now stated that Gyokeres was the one who broke things up in an attempt to “sever all his ties” with Portugal, allowing him to join Arsenal. According to a source, “Viktor does not want anything that ties him to Portugal, especially since he has already decided not to continue at Sporting next season.”
“Before embarking on vacation, he spoke with Ines and expressed his feelings. She was also prepared in some ways, albeit it was tough for her because she really liked him.”
