This summer, a number of elite teams have expressed interest in the Newcastle United forward.
Alexander Isak, a forward for Newcastle United who has been linked to a move to the Premier League winners this summer, has received a significant update on his future from a journalist for Liverpool FC.
Isak, 25, has been linked to a number of teams in recent months, including Arsenal and PSG, but if he were to leave Newcastle, Liverpool would seem to be his top choice.
“For Isak it depends on Newcastle, because the player talked to the coach and the club at the end of the season because he would like to leave but Newcastle are not open to that, at the moment,” Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Monday, adding that “it depends on Newcastle and Isak’s discussion, if the club will be open to having him on the market.”

In the meanwhile, Rousing Liverpool was interested in the player, according to Graeme Bailey of the Kop, and “it’s going to come to a head” shortly.
“Isak has always been in play,” stated Bailey. Regarding him and what we’re hearing, I have faith in my sources.
Liverpool is closely monitoring the negotiations, which will shortly come to a climax, but Newcastle is willing to compromise their pay structure on a new contract for him. Since Newcastle isn’t producing much, we’ll have to wait and watch how things turn out.
“Liverpool is not being deterred, and we don’t know exactly why, but they seem to think there’s a chink of light there,” he continued.
“That will continue to be the case even though this new contract hasn’t been signed.”
Bailey said that if the Swede declines a new contract offer from the Magpies, Liverpool may be able to acquire him for a discounted price of between £120 and £130 million.
Isak would take charge of an already excellent Liverpool team, which has been strengthened even more by the signings of Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong this summer, if he were to move from the North East of England to the North West.

In addition to Isak, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany mentioned two more players that Liverpool may examine.
“Liverpool are currently focusing on three concrete options in their search for a new number 9: Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak, and Victor Osimhen,” Plettenberg wrote in X.
“#LFC has collected data on each of them and carried out extensive inspections. For instance, Ekitike ranks well on the list. The French striker is aware that Liverpool must sell players first, so he will need to exercise patience if he decides to join there.
