Cristiano Ronaldo has already been given ‘special permission’ to break strict Saudi rule as he commits future to Al Nassr

For over two years, Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, have resided in Saudi Arabia.

For the previous two years, Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez have been allowed to violate Saudi Arabian law because local authorities allegedly “turned a blind eye” to their predicament.

Ronaldo signed a new two-year contract with Al Nassr, a Saudi Pro League team, on Thursday, following weeks of rumours.

Prior to their Club World Cup campaign this summer, the 40-year-old forward, who scored 35 goals in 41 games across all competitions the previous season, was linked to a high-profile transfer to Saudi rivals Al Hilal.

However, according to The Sun, Ronaldo has signed a new contract with Al Nassr worth £488,000 per day. The Sun also claims that Ronaldo is receiving a £24.5 million signing bonus, which will rise to £38 million if he activates the second year of his contract.

Additionally, according to the article, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner will receive a 15% ownership part in the team.

Ronaldo wrote in response to his most recent move: “A new chapter begins. Same dream, same passion. Together, let’s make history.

Despite Saudi Arabia’s regulations prohibiting unmarried couples from living together, Ronaldo and his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez will continue to live together as a result of the ruling.

Authorities will “turn a blind eye” to the couple living together, according to two Saudi solicitors who spoke to Spanish international news agency EFE in 2023, when the striker joined Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United.

“The kingdom’s laws still forbid living together without a marriage contract, but the authorities have recently begun to turn a blind eye and no longer prosecute anyone,” an unnamed attorney told EFE, as reported by SPORT.

“Even so, these laws are applied in cases of crime or trouble.”

“Even though the law forbids cohabitation without marriage, Saudi authorities no longer interfere in this matter – for expatriates,” a second attorney remarked.

Ronaldo previously stated to Piers Morgan that he hopes to wed Rodriguez in the future and that they both “deserve” it.

Bella and Alana are the couple’s two children. The Portuguese striker first met his partner in 2016 when she worked at a Gucci store in Madrid. Ronaldo is also the father of twins Eva and Mateo, as well as his oldest son Cristiano Jr.
