Major twist in Marcus Rashford’s future emerges as club drop bombshell on summer deal

The Manchester United star’s future may finally be decided.

Marcus Rashford’s transfer story has taken an unexpected turn, as his departure from Manchester United appears likely.

Ruben Amorim, United’s interim manager following the firing of Erik ten Hag, has made it clear that Rashford is not in his plans for the future.

Just one month after joining United, Amorim made the contentious decision to leave Rashford out of the matchday squad for the Manchester derby against Manchester City in December.

Rashford later departed the club in January on a short-term loan to Premier League rivals Aston Villa, and it appears that he will go again this summer.

Rashford has been linked with a number of teams, including Villa and Barcelona, but a fresh report suggests we may finally know where he will play next.

Rashford has been open about his desire to leave United this summer, stating that a move to Barcelona would be his dream transfer, where he hopes to play alongside Spanish wonderkid Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has stated that he is open to signing the 27-year-old, and a recent story from The Sun suggests that Barcelona may now be ready to formalise this desire.

According to the source, Barcelona will offer Rashford a loan move to the Nou Camp, but they are unlikely to make a permanent transfer due to their desire to sign Athletic Club star Nico Williams.

If Rashford impresses on this loan, Barcelona intends to make the move permanent, with funds presently standing in the way.

Flick is believed to love Rashford’s versatility and plans to play him on the wing and as a backup in the middle for ageing striker Robert Lewandowski.

Although United would like to sell Rashford this summer, it is reported that they would be open to a loan deal to get the Englishman’s £370,000 per week contract off the books.
