Marcus Rashford’s Inner Circle Had Brutal Alejandro Garnacho Nickname at Man Utd

Marcus Rashford’s close friends have reportedly given fellow Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho a derogatory moniker. Both wingers are slated to quit Old Trafford after a falling out with manager Ruben Amorim, the first of which occurred in 2024, ahead of the season’s first Manchester Derby.

Garnacho caused a commotion on social media over the weekend by tweeting a photo of himself wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Rashford’s name and number, adding fuel to the fire over his future at the Theatre of Dreams. And, while the Englishman responded warmly to the post, it appears that those closest to him had a negative attitude towards the Argentine.

Garnacho Labelled a ‘Wannabe’ by Rashford’s Camp

The Englishman’s closest confidants have not spoken kindly of his teammate

Despite the fact that Rashford responded to Garnacho’s post by referring to his teammate as his ‘brother,’ a report from the Manchester Evening News suggests that the pair’s relationship is not as strong as the social media activity suggests, with the two rarely interacting both on and off the pitch. In reality, it was believed that the two had only spent time together outside of football at team bonding events with other members of the squad.

Furthermore, it has been reported that members of Rashford’s inner circle have called Garnacho a ‘f*****g Ronaldo wannabe’.

Garnacho was well known to consider Cristiano Ronaldo to be one of his idols, and he even got to live out his goal by playing with the Portuguese superstar during Erik ten Hag’s first few months at United. In reality, it was Ronaldo who assisted Garnacho’s first professional goal away at Real Sociedad, with the then-teenager requesting and gaining permission to emulate his hero’s latest sleep celebration.

Years later, it appears that the Argentinian’s fixation with the former Old Trafford number seven has persisted, prompting derision from the Rashford camp.
