Wrexham set to sign Liverpool player in huge coup after £40m transfer ‘agreed’

Wrexham are apparently interested in signing a Liverpool player after the Premier League champions agreed to a £40 million transfer.

Wrexham, backed by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney from Hollywood, is ready for life in the Championship after three consecutive promotions.

So far this summer, the Red Dragons have added forward Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle.

Looking ahead, Wrexham continue to be associated with a variety of players.

According to recent reports, a Liverpool kid has piqued the interest of the Welsh club.

According to Liverpool.com, Wrexham are interested in recruiting full-back Owen Beck on a season-long loan.

Beck, 22, impressed at Blackburn Rovers last season and will likely be sent out again to acquire more experience.

Back in 2024, then-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said of Beck: “We were always pretty positive about Owen, but then he had two really difficult loan spells [at Famalicao and Bolton].”

Beck’s transfer to Wrexham could come after Liverpool agreed to pay £40 million for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

Hungarian Kerkez is regarded as the ideal alternative for Andy Robertson, who has been linked with a move away from Anfield, with La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid intrigued.

Kerkez, 21, appeared in all 38 Premier League games during a breakout season, scoring six goals and assisting on two others.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein confirmed on social media that Kerkez will have his Liverpool physical on Monday.

He said on social media: “Milos Kerkez is set to fly into the UK from Belgrade and undergo medical today before completing his transfer from Bournemouth to Liverpool.” A 21-year-old #AFCB left-back joins #LFC for ~£40 million, with Hungary international due to sign 5-year contract at Anfield.

The Premier League champions have already had a busy summer, signing Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz.

Marc Guehi, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak have all been linked with a transfer to Merseyside.
