Willian is one of a now-famous trio of Palmeiras wonderkids that have emerged in recent years, with Real Madrid’s Endrick and West Ham’s Luis Guilherme. The winger has stayed with the Brazilian giants for this summer’s Club World Cup and began on the right side in their match against Al-Ahly, which was halted around the hour mark due to lightning in the stadium.

Despite his statistically quiet performance, the youngster did enough to persuade Chelsea fans online that he was a future superstar, with many believing that his game will only improve once he surrounds himself with the perceived higher quality of Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Throughout the game, Willian only got 17 touches, two shots on goal, and completed one of his attempted dribbles. He also misplaced the ball eight times and failed to complete a successful cross.
Despite this, there was enough promise on display to persuade Chelsea fans that he will have a bright future with the club.
