Fans have all come to same verdict after watching Lionel Messi play against Porto in Club World Cup

In their second group stage game, Messi’s Inter Miami will play Porto.

After witnessing Lionel Messi and Inter Miami play Porto in the Club World Cup, fans had reached the same conclusion.

After drawing their respective first games 0-0, both teams went into the match seeking their first group stage victory.

Porto took the lead as Samu Aghehowa, a striker, beat former Sunderland goalkeeper Oscar Ustari after Noah Allen gave away what looked to be a cheap penalty.

There were opportunities on both sides as the first half progressed, and Inter Miami’s defense occasionally looked unsteady.

Aghehowa drove past multiple defenders to make it 2-0, but Ustari made a fantastic stop.

Additionally, Porto only had a 1-0 lead going into halftime after Rodrigo Mora was denied by a goal-line clearance.

During the first half, Messi was among the finest players on the field and tried to help his team, but an equalizer was not going to be coming.

Although he is playing with Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets, fans quickly formed opinions on Inter Miami’s performance.

According to one, “I feel sorry for Messi ngl.”

“Inter Miami is ridiculously dependent on Messi,” a second person remarked. Do you want him to advise guys where to run, drive the ball, playmake, and yet score?

Another remarked, “Messi still proves he could run Europe with proper runners.”

“An Inter Miami side that, aside from Messi, couldn’t hold up anywhere,” a fourth person added. After the interval, Inter Miami did show improvement, as Venezuelan player Telasco Segovia scored a spectacular goal from 12 yards out.

Despite having four goals and five assists in the 2025 MLS season, the 22-year-old has not been Javier Mascherano’s team’s automatic starter in recent weeks.

On minute fifty-four, Messi made it 2-1 with a signature piece of brilliance, curling a 22-yard free kick into the top right corner.

Palmeiras, a Brazilian team, defeated Al Ahly of Egypt 2-0 in the other Group A encounter. With two games played, Palmeiras is now temporarily leading the group.
