After witnessing what Trent Alexander-Arnold performed minutes into his debut, Liverpool supporters have warned Real Madrid.
After his high-profile move from Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold was given a spot in the starting lineup for Real Madrid’s Club World Cup opening match against Al Hilal.
Following his debut for his new team, Liverpool supporters quickly responded to his decision to take a position at right-back.
Al Hilal had a great start and experienced bursts of success with the England international’s team.
Renan Lodi gave the Saudi Pro League team the lead until his attempt was disallowed for offside in the 19th minute, taking advantage of Alexander-Arnold’s error.
Liverpool supporters used the incident as a warning to Real Madrid, saying it was a “taste” and a “sample” of what was to come.
“Real Madrid just got a sample of the defending they can expect from Trent Alexander-Arnold,” one X user commented. He’s fortunate that the flag was up, haha.
Another stated: “Real Madrid just got a taste of Trent Alexander-Arnold having next to zero defending instincts.”

However, Alexander-Arnold demonstrated his passing ability when he selected a pass to initiate a spectacular counterattack that resulted in a goal, which Gonzalo Garcia scored from close range.
In an effort to affect the game, he has also begun moving toward midfield instead of remaining wide.
Seven minutes later, Ruben Neves sent Thibaut Courtois the wrong way to convert a penalty, giving Al Hilal the equalizer.
During the half, former Champions League champion John Obi Mikel praised Alexander-Arnold’s ability to move forward but suggested he needed to “tighten” up his defensive play.
