There have been rumors about Bryan Mbeumo leaving Brentford.
With one team apparently withdrawing from the race, the transfer story surrounding Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has taken a new turn.
In 42 games in all competitions for the Bees, Mbeumo, 25, scored 20 goals and provided nine assists, making him one of the season’s top players.
As a result, Mbeumo has been strongly linked to leaving Brentford during the open summer transfer season.
Manchester United is reportedly interested in bringing the winger to Old Trafford.
Tottenham Hotspur reportedly joined the running to sign the Cameroon international earlier this month.
To persuade the forward to turn down United, Spurs sought to enlist the help of Thomas Frank, their new manager who had previously worked with Mbeumo at Brentford.
On the other hand, Spurs are allegedly no longer in the race.
Valentin Furlan of Transfer Insider stated on social media: “Sources inform me and @RudyGaletti that the Spurs are out of the Bryan Mbeumo competition.
“As reported — the player has given his word to Manchester United.”
“According to me and @RudyGaletti, there are encouraging signs in the most recent meeting between Manchester United and Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo,” he continued.
“Parties are now working on the set fee after agreeing on personal terms. Mbeumo solely wants United, as stated.

The Red Devils are expected to have a busy transfer window as they try to give Ruben Amorim more talent following their disappointing 15th-place result in the 24/25 season.
For an estimated £62.5 million, United had already acquired Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In addition to Mbeumo, Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike have also been linked to United.
However, in their attempt to acquire a new striker, the Red Devils will have to contend with competition from Premier League rivals like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
The sky Florian Plettenberg of Germany stated: “At this time, MUFC is the only team that has gotten in touch with Eintracht Frankfurt directly. Chelsea and Liverpool have only had formal discussions with the player’s management thus far.
