What Fans Are Saying About Jobe Bellingham’s Borussia Dortmund Debut

Coming off the bench during Borussia Dortmund’s 0-0 draw with Fluminense in the FIFA Club World Cup on Tuesday night, Jobe Bellingham made his debut for the Bundesliga team. Only weeks after leading Sunderland back to the Premier League through the Championship playoffs, the midfield player relocated to Germany earlier this month.

He had established himself as a vital member of the Black Cats, but instead of staying at the Stadium of Light and trying to get them into the top division the next season, he decided to follow in his older brother’s footsteps and relocate to Dortmund. Even though he doesn’t have the Bellingham name on the back of his shirt, he is still very much associated with Jude, his older brother, who rose to fame at Signal Iduna Park before moving to Real Madrid in 2023.

Following his debut for the team, fans have been talking about the younger sibling on social media, and they are hoping he can duplicate some of that magic in Germany.

Football Fans Are Impressed With Jobe Bellingham

He looked promising in his cameo off the bench

Bellingham had more than enough time to make an impact, and he did just that, even though he just came off the bench in the second half and played for little over 30 minutes. The Englishman had 34 touches on the ball on his debut and only mishandled two of his 28 passes.

On both ends of the field, he hardly ever made a mistake. As his team drew their inaugural match in the Club World Cup, the former Sunderland player also made three clearances and won one ground duel. Fans had a lot to say about the celebrity, and it was a good start. Using X (Twitter), one person quickly put an end to any discussion that Jobe was only signed because of Jude: “Jobe Bellingham wasn’t signed by Borussia Dortmund because of his brother named Jude Bellingham.” The youngster is very talented and will likely get much better there.

One more fan wrote: “Jobe Bellingham is good. Trust the buzz. One person said, “He’s very neat and will do well at Dortmund,” while another said, “You think you’re seeing Jude if you see Jobe Bellingham with his eyes half closed.” They haven’t aided him, but he still uses the same stride and inside touch to enter the opponent’s zone. The best of a rather drab Borussia Dortmund team today, along with Kobel.

“Jobe Bellingham is not overrated… Dude is a baller,” remarked a fourth fan, and a final user expressed admiration by writing: “Jobe Bellingham is so tidy.” The boy is good. So hardworking.”
