Man Utd have decided on their next four signings after completing deal for Matheus Cunha as Ruben Amorim eyes huge overhaul

They have selected four critical spots to enhance ahead of the upcoming season.

Ruben Amorim might be working with a new-look Manchester United team in the coming months, with the club reportedly looking to sign four more players following the arrival of Matheus Cunha.

After triggering his £62.5 million release clause, United announced Cunha’s arrival this week, an amazing display of ambition as they seek to rebuild.

Cunha, who scored 17 goals in all competitions for Wolves last season, will undoubtedly inject some much-needed attacking flair into a club lacking confidence in that area of the ground.

However, as they prepare for a hectic summer, the Reds are considering different attacking possibilities. In fact, they hope to add two more forwards this summer, including Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who is eager to join Amorim’s project.

According to The Manchester Evening News, United would like to get a deal for Mbuemo ‘locked up’ before pre-season training begins in July.

Earlier this month, United bid £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons for Mbuemo, but the offer fell short of Brentford’s valuation. They are thought to value the player at much than £60 million.

In addition to Mbeumo, United are looking for a productive centre forward. After missing out on Liam Delap, the club is still associated with Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen, though outgoings ‘will be required’ to fund the addition, according to the MEN.

Amorim may also have a new midfielder in his ranks before the season begins, as they seek to replace Christian Eriksen, who will depart Old Trafford when his contract ends at the end of this month.

Casemiro is also in the final year of his contract, and according to the aforementioned source, the Brazilian might be sold if the club fails to qualify for Europe next season. Kobbie Mainoo’s future is uncertain.

Finally, United are interested in signing a goalkeeper to battle Andre Onana, with Altay Bayindir connected with a move to Turkish club Besiktas.

One thing is certain: United will support Amorim with a lot of summer acquisitions. Last month, the club’s chief executive officer, Omar Berrada, stated that they had plans for an ambitious transfer window.

“I can’t talk about specifics, but I can say that we’ve been planning for many months now,” according to him. “We were prepared for all possible circumstances, so we now know what we need to do.

“We have a very clear sense of where we need to invest in the squad to improve, so (technical director) Jason Wilcox, his staff, and Ruben have been in discussions for many months.

“Now it’s a question of executing that plan and doing it in a way that is prudent but at the same time with ambition.”
