Betting odds for the FIFA Club World Cup are 32-25, with Japan, South Africa, and Mexico all represented.

Anything is conceivable, of course, but some teams may fly to the United States only for the experience, rather than for the reward. This comprises A-League Men’s side Auckland City and Botola Pro 1’s WAS Casablanca.

The latter has odds of 500/1 alongside two other teams: Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa’s top division and Esperance de Tunis of the Tunisian Ligue Professionelle 1. Urawa Red Diamonds are priced at 250/1.

Monterrey of Liga MX shares the same odds as the Japanese club, who formerly used Manchester United-linked Zion Suzuki. Ulsan Hyundai and Al Ain SCC round out the category with odds of 200/1 each. They are extremely unlikely to reach for the stars.

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami have the same odds as Al Hilal.

Pachuca of Liga MX is put at 150/1; Egyptian Premier League outfit Al Ahly, one of the most successful clubs in international football, is priced at 125/1; and Major League Soccer’s Seattle Sounders are priced at 100/1 to travel to New Jersey and win the final.

RB Salzburg may be regulars at Europe’s top table, but Bet365 does not give them a good chance of winning, believing odds of 80/1 are a reasonable market. The Austrian Bundesliga’s third-place finishers have been assigned the identical odds as Los Angeles of the MLS.

Lionel Messi will be seeking to add to his trophy collection in the United States this summer, but despite the Argentine’s star power, David Beckham’s Inter Miami are not well-positioned in the betting market. In fact, Bet365 rates them at 66/1.

Al-Hilal, without Neymar’s ingenuity and firepower, has a 66/1 chance of winning. With his side rated at 50/1, Fluminense’s Thiago Silva may have the opportunity to play against a previous side – either PSG or Chelsea – this summer, with him and his team looking to impress.

Portuguese duo Benfica and Porto boast the same odds.

We’re now going into the details of the competition. Botafogo, who compete in Brazil’s top division, has the same odds as the aforementioned Fluminense, while FC Porto is sandwiched between Argentine clubs River Plate and Boca Juniors.

Following the latter, SL Benfica is listed at 40/1. After losing domestic glory to Sporting CP, they will be eager to make amends in the States – and they, too, have a 40/1 chance of achieving so according to the bookmakers.

Palmeiras and Flamengo, both in Série A, are at 33/1. Juventus, while no longer Italy’s dominant force, has a track record of winning silverware, and they could do so this summer. Their odds are 28/1, yet the Old Lady just misses the top ten.

Manchester City is priced at 5/1, Chelsea at 11/1.

According to Bet365, Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund – one of just two German teams competing – is placed at 25/1, however their chances of topping the rest of the group are minimal since Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are among them.

Chelsea are coming off a Europa Conference League victory, and Enzo Maresca might add to his trophy collection. The west London team has been given odds of 11/1 to win, while Bayern Munich has a 7/1 chance of hoisting gold on July 13.

Manchester City has gone an entire season without a trophy, but winning the CWC could be a tiny victory in the broader scheme of things. They are currently listed at 5/1, although Paris Saint-Germain (9/2) is barely ahead of them.

Luis Enrique’s side is in a winning mentality after winning the Champions League for the first time, and they will be confident going into the event. Real Madrid, boosted by the acquisition of Trent Alexander-Arnold, are the clear favourites at 4/1.
