Jurgen Klopp, the former Liverpool manager, has reportedly threatened to derail Arsenal’s recruitment ambitions.
In 2024, Klopp chose to end his nine-year reign as Liverpool manager and leave Anfield.
During his tenure as manager, the Reds won the Premier League and the Champions League, among other titles.
Since leaving Liverpool, Klopp has become the Red Bull group’s Head of Global Soccer.
As a result, the German will work for Red Bull-owned clubs including RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg.
Benjamin Sesko, a Leipzig striker, was recently linked with a move to Premier League side Arsenal.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal is moving forward with discussions for Benjamin Šeško, following initial talks revealed last week. Discussions are now continuing and going well between all parties involved, including players and clubs.
“No agreement yet now or expected this weekend; but advancing.”
However, according to Spanish news outlet Defensa Central, Sesko was offered to La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid.
In reaction, Madrid decided not to recruit the highly rated striker.
The study stated, “Sesko does not fit in this scenario. Despite his projected success, Real Madrid has decided not to sign him due to his exorbitant cost.
Furthermore, President Florentino Perez stated: “He is not the profile we are looking for.”
It has also been stated that, like Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich have turned down the opportunity to recruit Sesko.
Arsenal now ‘look to be the most interested’ club.
Journalist Ben Jacobs added: “Arsenal are in talks with Leipzig about Benjamin Sesko, with an offer possible soon. Sesko is considering a move to AFC.
“Viktor Gyökeres is still being considered, since Andrea Berta wants to explore multiple options before officially bidding, although Sesko conversations are further along. Arsenal believes that Sesko and Gyökeres can be acquired for around €70 million.
“And Gyökeres remains open to #MUFC even without Champions League football, as revealed yesterday, even though #MUFC haven’t yet made an approach to Sporting to date.”
