Gary Neville has made an early prediction on who will win the 2025/2026 Premier League, with Arne Slot’s Liverpool missing out. Neville has already gone on record with his pre-season champions, selecting Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to win the last two campaigns.
On both occasions, the Gunners finished second, with Liverpool winning their 20th Premier League title last season and Manchester City completing a four-peat the previous season. And now, the 50-year-old has made a fairly wild prediction on who he believes will win the crown in May 2026.

Speaking on the It’s Called Soccer podcast, Neville determined it would be a case of third time lucky, as he once again backed Arsenal to end their two-decade league title drought and return to the pinnacle of English football.
The Sky Sports pundit explained his reasoning:
“I have to go to Arsenal again. I have to double down, don’t I? I’ve gone there the last two seasons, and they’ve finished second in three of them. I didn’t back them the first season; I backed City, but I did the last two, and I’m sticking with them.”
It is commonly assumed that in order for the Emirates team to contend at the top of the standings, Arteta will need to ensure that the owners open their wallets and sign a natural number nine, which the club has badly lacked. Kai Havertz has frequently played the role, despite it not being his favored position. Due to injuries to the German and Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Merino has taken over in the middle.

In the same episode, Neville urged Manchester United not to sell teenage player Kobbie Mainoo. While he did not offer any predictions for the next season, he did agree that Matheus Cunha’s arrival at Manchester United could provide a much-needed boost to Ruben Amorim.
“When your club signs a player, you should be thrilled. “We know some of the players in his position are going to leave,” added the analyst. “Cunha’s aims have grown in recent years. He had a respectable performance for a club that has been around the bottom of the Premier League rather than the top.
“Am I excited?” I am excited by it because United need players who know the Premier League and have a bit more toughness in terms of what they’ve been through. Being at Wolves would be tough since they lose a lot of matches.
“I’m hoping he comes to Old Trafford and sees this huge pitch, this incredible stadium, with 75,000 supporters who love a player who can take on opponents and travel with the ball. I’m hoping he can shine some light. I’m not saying that one player will improve the current situation, but one player can be a spark.”
