Jamie Carragher has been called out for previous comments regarding Chelsea and has been ordered to pay £5,000 now that the Blues have qualified for next season’s Champions League. Enzo Maresca’s first season as Chelsea manager has been up and down.
After several years of turmoil, he has helped Chelsea recover and return to the top four. They’ll be playing Champions League football again, but it wasn’t all straight sailing for the team, and there were plenty of challenges along the way. Following Todd Boehly’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, the Blues faced a difficult time. They spent billions of pounds on a variety of players, but nothing appeared to be working as they floundered in the middle of the table.
At the start of the 2024/25 season, Carragher blasted Chelsea and wondered why any footballer would want to play for them. He advised players to sign with ‘legitimate’ clubs rather than joining the Blues. When they were termed as a ‘exciting young team’, he objected, claiming that they were not.
His words have resurfaced after Maresca’s team finished in fourth place and qualified for the Champions League, prompting Dennis Wise to send him a public message via social media.
Dennis Wise’s Message for Carragher
He made fun at the former defender and requested a charitable payment.

After his previous side clinched Champions League football, Chelsea legend Wise couldn’t resist taking to social media and sending a public message to Carragher. While on vacation, the former midfielder posted a video responding to the pundit’s views against the Blues. Speaking to the camera, Wise stated:
Hello, Mr. Jamie Carragher. I hope you are well. As you can see, I’m away on vacation. I just saw the results, and I believe you owe £5000 to my charity, or a charity of my choice.
“Sometimes, when I watch you on TV, you look incredibly wonderful. You make mistakes from time to time, as you did with this one.”
Wise, who has represented Chelsea 440 times, couldn’t keep a smirk from his face as he addressed Carragher. His feelings are reflective of how the majority of the Blues’ fanbase is currently feeling. After several difficult seasons, the club has regained its position among the best.
