Enzo Fernandez Reveals Mysterious Injury in Viral Post After Chelsea 1-0 Man Utd

Chelsea is one of many Premier League teams with a lot on the line going into the last matchday, but three players inexplicably sustained injuries prior to their close 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Friday night, casting doubt on the team. In order to secure their return entry to the Champions League, the Blues must defeat Nottingham Forest when they visit the City Ground on Sunday.

Additionally, they have a journey to Wroclaw for a Europa Conference League final versus Real Betis just three days later, so they won’t have time to relax. It may be easy to declare Enzo Maresca’s first season in charge a success if the team does well in their two season-defining games in four days, but many believe the standard should have been far better considering the club’s extravagant expenditure.

Enzo Fernandez, who had trouble maintaining his post-New Year form and was mostly overshadowed by Moises Caicedo’s Man of the Match performance versus United, added to the suspense by teasing a mysterious eye injury in a cryptic post. Fans are now becoming more curious about why anything behind the scenes doesn’t add up.

Three Chelsea Players Were Spotted With Mysterious Injuries

The Stamford Bridge faithful are chiming in with their conspiracies

Fernandez revealed on Instagram that he had sustained an unexplained eye injury during Friday night’s close victory over the Red Devils, which effectively meant the Argentine was playing under the lights with only one eye. See the caption below for what he wrote:

“This team will give it their all in the final home game.” There are still two finals to go. We appreciate the fans’ support throughout the season. I played my first game with only one eye.

However, it didn’t take long for a Chelsea fan to realise that there were other players on the home team who were playing with odd injuries. An X user noted, “So is no one going to mention that [Moises] Caicedo pulled up with a mask on,” before continuing:

“Enzo had an odd eye that had no known cause, and [Nicolas] Jackson had a bandage on his nose. Will we all just act as though we didn’t see that?

Online rumours have suggested that Fernandez’s eye injury is more complicated than initially thought and that something may have gone wrong behind the scenes to upset the peace in the Chelsea camp. Another X user added, “I wonder what happened during training,” while a third person questioned, “Did something happen behind the scenes?”

As is typically the case with social media, there’s a chance that minor issues could become major ones. To end the season on a positive note, the Blues will be resolved to ignore the commotion. A first trophy since 2021 would provide a much-needed moment of success after a few of tumultuous years, and qualifying for the Champions League would be a huge boost to the Todd Boehly regime and its long-term goals.
