Despite having a poor season, Manchester United might still win a trophy because they advanced to the Europa League final.
The Red Devils have been incredibly successful in Europe, which is a far cry from their home performance. With nine victories and five draws in their 14 games played so far this season, they have yet to lose. Real Sociedad, Lyon, and Athletic Bilbao are among the teams that have been swept aside en route to the championship game.
United is concentrating on getting ready for the Premier League final in Bilbao, where they will face English rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, May 21, as they don’t have much to lose. According to the Daily Mail, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s decision prior to the final has left the club’s employees furious.
Before the Europa League Final, Sir Jim Ratcliffe makes a cruel decision that infuriates United employees.
Since joining the team, Ratcliffe has repeatedly infuriated United employees with cost-cutting tactics, and he has incited even more ire ahead of this month’s Europa League final.
The decision by Paris Saint-Germain to cover the cost of tickets and travel for all 600 employees to their Champions League final matchup with Inter Milan in Munich was made public earlier this week. Additionally, it was claimed that Inter Milan were giving their employees free tickets.
Like Inter, Tottenham Hotspur has given away free tickets to the Europa League final in Bilbao to each of their 700 staff. United, on the other hand, has taken a different tack and decided not to give their employees any complimentary tickets.
Rather, the Red Devils are hosting a ballot, and their employees will only be able to purchase a certain amount of seats. Additionally, they are inviting plus-ones to a screening that they are holding in Manchester. It is claimed that staff members would receive two complimentary drinks, while guests will be responsible for paying for their own.
United has decided to put supporters before employees, despite having been allotted 15,000 for the game. The decision was made because of the huge demand for tickets and the belief that supporters would have been dissatisfied if a large portion of them had been given to club employees rather than game attendees.
Some people are thought to have become enraged at the entire ticket situation. Reddit users are also expressing sympathy for the disgruntled United employees. “Man, this is just comically evil at this point,” one fan remarked, while another commented, “What a joke and insult to the staff.” One supporter has also criticized the choice as “pathetic,” while another has termed it “shameful.”
