Trent Alexander-Arnold finally ‘makes decision’ on Liverpool contract extension following Premier League title win

For a number of months, the Liverpool right-back has been strongly linked to a move to the La Liga winners.

According to reports, Trent Alexander-Arnold, the right-back for Liverpool, has decided on his future.

Since his Liverpool contract expires in June, 26-year-old Alexander-Arnold has been strongly linked to a move to Real Madrid.

The right-back did not address the reporters assembled at Anfield, but he was in the middle of Liverpool’s celebrations following their April 27 Premier League title win.

He began Sunday (May 4) in the Reds’ 3-1 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, meaning he may only have three games left to play for the team.

Throughout the season, the England international has kept rather quiet regarding his future; nevertheless, as the season draws to a close, a choice must be made and made public as soon as possible.

A deal between “Real Madrid and Liverpool is at the final stages,” according to journalist Fabrizio Romano in late April.

Romano stated on the “Here We Go” podcast that “the deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid is at the final stages.”

“I’m just awaiting the official procedures, signing all the contracts, and finishing all the paperwork.” Thus, that is the story’s trajectory.

“Real Madrid, at the moment, no changes in the conversation in the situation with Liverpool.”

Speaking on The Athletic FC Podcast on Monday (April 28), David Ornstein of The Athletic also offered his thoughts on the matter.

“We have long anticipated that he will join Real Madrid, but naturally, that door is only slightly open until everything is finalized,” Ornstein said.

Football Insider said on Sunday, May 4, that Alexander-Arnold “has made up his mind about his exit and Arne Slot’s side have already moved on.” Neither the player nor Liverpool Football Club have confirmed this.

According to the outlet, Liverpool has already started evaluating his replacement and is expected to sign a right-back this summer. Andrea Cambiaso of Juventus is being linked to a possible transfer to the Premier League winners, though Manchester City is also rumored to be interested.
