Richarlison has taken to social media to mock Harvey Elliott for his “30” gesture. This comes after Liverpool defeated Tottenham 5-1 on Sunday afternoon to win the Premier League for the second time in five years. During the second half, the former Everton striker—who has a contentious relationship with the Anfield supporters—became the object of mockery.
The 27-year-old approached Elliott shortly after entering the game as a substitute after the Liverpool midfielder tried to nutmeg him. Elliott, a longtime red, smirked in response and made the “30” motion, which was apparently a jab at Everton’s trophy-less 30-year wait. Nearby, Curtis Jones joined in the laughs. It was foolish to assume that Richarlison would ignore Elliott’s antics because he is known for getting under opponents’ skins, or refusing to be shook himself. The Brazilian retaliated in typical Maverick fashion, addressing a TikTok video that featured their altercation.
Richarlison Addresses Elliott’s Gesture in Typical Form
The ex-Everton talisman’s response is vintage Richarlison
Richarlison, who played 152 games for Everton, which is only a short walk across Stanley Park from Anfield, knows exactly what the Merseyside derby means to everyone in the city he once called home. As a result, he couldn’t leave Liverpool on Sunday without at least attempting to have the last laugh. He wrote in the TikTok comment section, “I think he wants to reach 30 goals in his career.”

It goes without saying that after winning his second Premier League title with the team he grew up rooting for alongside his father, Elliott is unlikely to be overly alarmed by the remarks. However, the exchange can still be considered a Richarlison masterpiece. As of this writing, Elliott, 22, has made 188 club appearances for Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, and Liverpool, tallying 21 goals and 30 assists.
The young midfielder appears to have a great future, but it is unclear where he will be next season due to rumors that he may leave Anfield. During the 2024–25 season, he has played just under 500 minutes of football, and he may be one of the many players Arne Slot looks to acquire in order to further bolster his team.
